Mowgli is Akilaria RC1 Class 40 designed by the famous Marc Lombard and built for competitive offshore racing in 2006/7 by MC-TEC shipyard for Jeremy Salvesen and David Thomson. Mowgli's second skipper was Marco Nannini, taking part in Global Ocean Race 2011/2012, winning second place overall. In 2016, Nannini has offered for sale Mowgli to Ivica Kostelić, Croatian best-known alpine ski racer, World Cup and Olympics winner. In 2018 Kostelić sold Mowgli to Slaven Fischer, Croatian marketing executive and sailor. Aboard Mowgli, Fischer and his team has participated in ARC January 2022, crossing Atlantic from Gran Canaria to Saint Lucia in 15d 14h 1m 20s and taking line honours.

After Mowgli was purchased by Fischer, from November 2018 to June 2019, Mowgli was in the yard going through a full refit and many upgrades.  The interior has been changed (design by Pulse Yacht Design), two 100l freshwater tanks including Schenker watermaker ZEN30 has been added. The complete electric system and batteries has been changed as well NKE electronics including installing new equipment, board computer Winmate Marine, Iridium and FleetOne satellite communication. By July 2019, the keel was inspected, repaired, and subsequently reattached as well renewed all running rigging, including halyards and sheets, and the mast and new rigging has been in place. Next two years until late 2021, Mowgli was "on test", participating on many races in Adriatic.

Professionally well maintained since her refit, Mowgli is a dual-purpose balance sailing boat, a blue water family cruiser or offshore racer, whatever your agenda is. Easy, practical handling for small crews or even single-handed. Very well sorted, much cherished, and ready for Med or an ocean of your choice now.
